Urban Garden Center is owned and operated by the Gatanas family. They are third generation garden retailers here in New York City. Aspasia Gatanas, born and raised in East Harlem, is the daughter of the founders of Dimitri’s Garden Center – Dimitri and Calliope Gravanis (Picture on left is of Dimitri Gravanis circa 1959 at his 89th St. & Madison Ave. shop). Urban Garden Center is the leading supplier of garden supplies and plants in New York City.

Urban Garden Center prides itself on using environmentally responsible methods to running the garden center. We strive to keep locally grown and organic plants and garden supplies. Our 20,000 sq.ft. outdoor garden center is conveniently located on East 116th Street and Park Avenue under the metro north railroad tracks. We are only 1 block from the 6 train and 3 blocks from the 2/3 train. There is parking available on site. Urban Garden Center provides services like Garden Design, Garden Maintenance and Garden Installation throughout the Metro New York area.
